Personal thoughts on Effective Communication - MEC 1281 After going through 13 weeks of Effective Communication MEC 1281, I know that I have significantly improved as a communicator. I still remembered vividly when I first learnt that I would be taking up MEC 1281, dreading it as I did not excel in my English language and communication skills back in secondary school. The first assignment that I was tasked to complete was a formal letter to professor Blackstone and my classmates introducing myself. I remembered struggling with it, listing out my strengths and weaknesses and goals for this module. the feedback that I got in return honestly was not that big of a surprise to me, as I knew beforehand I wasn't the best at writing. Countless mistakes on sentence structure such as comma splice and run-on sentences plague my first assignment, not to mention spelling and grammar errors too.
